In 2004 we stumbled across a property in the village of Llandybie. A former florists, It had a lovely charm. Being ever optomistic we saw past the rotten floor boards and leaky roof and in it's place we visualised a restaurant; somewhere for locals and visitors alike to relax and enjoy. Work soon began and after eight months of refurbishment Valans was born.
A warm welcome and good honest food is whats waiting when you visit us. We don't do pretentious, stuffy service and we won't try and bamboozle you with cooking terminology straight out of a chemistry book.
As for our style of cooking that's a tricky one. There are influences from all over the world and we are constantly evolving, adding new dishes, refining old ones and keeping pace with the seasons.
At the forefront of our cooking is Dave's insistance that we make everything ourselves from the bread to mayonnaise, dressings, stocks and ice cream. If we don't make it then it isn't on the menu!
